The story
Pyarey Afzal is the story of a small-town dreamer who falls for the girl he can never have, and of the poetry, patience and heartbreak he fills the distance with. There is no version of this love that gets to stay simple.
Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar's dialogue and Nadeem Baig's direction made the 2013 serial a phenomenon. Hamza Ali Abbasi's Afzal and Ayeza Khan's Farah became shorthand for star-crossed forever, and the finale is still one of the most discussed in the archive.
