The story
Ranjha Ranjha Kardi pairs Noor Bano, a rich, rebellious young woman who trusts nobody, with Bhola, a kind-hearted man whom society refuses to take seriously. Their unlikely bond becomes the moral centre of a story full of people who should know better.
Kashif Nisar directs with his trademark social honesty, Imran Ashraf turned Bhola into one of the decade's most quoted performances, and Iqra Aziz matches him step for step. Few dramas have said so much about dignity with so little sentimentality.
