The story
Udaari tells the story of two women in one small neighbourhood who stand against an injustice the whole street has agreed to ignore. The show's courage is in its refusal to look away, especially where a child's safety is at stake.
The 2016 serial was praised across the industry for tackling a subject no one else would touch in prime time, with a villainous turn from Ahsan Khan that audiences still shudder at, and grace notes from Bushra Ansari, Urwa Hocane and Farhan Saeed around it.
