The story
Shehr-e-Zaat follows Falak, a socialite whose charmed life is arranged around one wish: the perfect love story. The serial lets her have everything she wanted, and then quietly takes the story somewhere else entirely.
Adapted from Umera Ahmed's novel, the 2012 serial is remembered for a second half that turns into one of the most moving treatments of faith on Pakistani television, with Mahira Khan's performance its centrepiece.
